There is a second half to this that has not been said yet. The GIP arm is doing real work rather than padding the label. GIP receptor agonism appears to improve adipose insulin sensitivity and lipid handling, and — counter-intuitively — GIP signalling in the CNS reduces nausea rather than adding to it, which is why tolerability at high total agonism is better than the GLP-1-only comparison would predict. SURPASS-2 is the cleanest head-to-head: tirzepatide beat semaglutide 1mg at every dose tier.

Compounding pharmacy red flag checklist for compounded supply — if ANY of these apply, find a different source:
- No verifiable physical address
- No pharmacist available for consultation
- COA not available or clearly template/fake
- Prices dramatically below market ($30-40/month = suspicious)
- No prescription required
- Ships without cold pack or temperature control
- No batch/lot numbers on product labeling
- Pushes "research use only" products for human injection
Your health depends on product quality. Don't cut corners on source verification.
One thing that is still open after Dr.RenalNash’s answer:
How long did you give it before you decided it was working?

Compounding pharmacy customer here with experience relevant to compounded supply.
I've ordered from 4 different compounding pharmacies over the past 14 months. The quality variation is real — purity ranged from 94% to 101% of label claim based on independent Janoshik testing.
My current compounder (a 503B facility) has been consistently 98-101% purity across 8 orders. I pay $163/month vs $1,353 for brand. The savings are substantial and the product is equivalent in my experience.
Re: compounded supply — this applies whether you're using brand or compounded. The clinical principles are the same.

I have been on both brand and compounded, and in the context of compounded supply, my experience has been equivalent with both. The key is finding a reliable 503B pharmacy with independent testing.
